My work is primarily figurative, although I strive to keep my work fresh through experimentation and keeping myself open to a wide range of influences.
I have an ongoing love affair with light, colour and texture to create spaces and worlds within a two dimensional plane. My work is largely narrative based, however subtle it may seem. Naturally then, my work thrives in the sequential; from book illustration and comics, to animation and storyboarding. A more recent development in my practice embraces my love of natural history, producing education illustrations and material for Meanwhile Gardens in North Kensington and the London Wildlife Trust.
I am inspired by nature, science, fiction and non-fiction, emotions and experiences on an individual level [not necessarily my own!] I work in a variety of media both analogue and digital: oils, gouache, ink, graphite, printmaking and sculpture, as well as having a keen interest in photography. Digitally my weapon of choice is a Wacom graphics tablet, which I use to paint and draw in Photoshop much like I would in the 'real world'. Over the years, I've also worked a considerable amount on web design.
